Current average monthly wage in Tajikistan stands at 1,524.4 somonis

An average monthly in Tajikistan rose 10.8 percent or 148.3 somonis in a year to December 31, 2021, reaching 1,524.4 somonis, the Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population, Ms. Shirin Amonzoda, told reporters in Dushanbe on February 9.

In the territorial cross section the highest average monthly wage was reported in Dushanbe – 2,254.5 somonis, the minister noted.

According to him, Dushanbe is followed by the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), where the current average monthly wage allegedly stands at 1,439.8 somonis.

In Sughd province, the current average monthly wage reportedly stands at 1,396.9 somonis, in districts subordinate to the center (RRP) – 1,259,4 somonis, and in Khatlon province – 1,146.3 somonis. 

The minister also provided data by sectors.   

According to her,  national staff members of diplomatic missions and international organizations active in the country have the highest average monthly wage in Tajikistan – 11,333.6 somonis. 

In the real sector of economy, the lowest average wage was reported in the agrarian sector and forestry – 633.8 somonis, and the highest average wage was reported in the mining sector – 2,786.1 somonis

In the service sector, employees of financial intermediation institutions have the highest average wage – 4,000 somonis.

The current average monthly wage of employees of the information and communications sector is 3,100 somonis.

Meanwhile, the minimum monthly wage in all sectors of the country's economy is expected to be raised by 50 percent from July 1, 2022 – from 400.00 somonis to 600.00 somonis.
