During a four-day working visit of President Emomali Rahmon to the northern province of Sughd (April 14-17), 49 enterprises creating 5,000 new jobs have been launched in the area, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

Among the most significant facilities are the ore-processing enterprise built of Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) TALCO Gold creating 500 new jobs and the gold and silver refinery of TBEA Dushanbe Mining Industry Ltd in Ayni district as well as the cotton and textile mills with a total of 600 job in Asht district.  

Many of new enterprises launched in Sughd reportedly manufacture import-substituting product, and may represented Tajikistan as exporter of products meeting requirement of the global market.  

On the last day of working visit to the Sughd province, Emomali Rahmon met with regional administrators and public activists of the area in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province.  

While addressing the meeting, Tajik leader emphasized that the current situation has a serious impact on the economic and social situation in almost all countries, including Tajikistan.
