Over 852,200 tons of cereals and 243,224 tons of potatoes produced in Tajikistan this year so far

Citing the press center of the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), Avesta news agency reported on August 24 that all categories of farms have yielded more than 852,200 tons of cereals as of August 19.  

This year, Tajik farmers have reportedly planted cereals on a total area of 304,695 hectares.

As of August 19,farmers have yielded cereals from the area of 268,210 hectares.  Farmers from the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) have yielded cereals from the area of 660 hectares; Sughd province – 84,017 hectares; Khatlon province – 137,395 hectares; districts subordinate to the center – 45,553 hectares; and Dushanbe – 585 hectares.  

As of August 19, all categories of farms have reportedly yielded 852,271 tons of cereals, including 696,381 tons of wheat.  

The MoA press center says Tajik farmers this year have planted potatoes on a total are of 34,659 hectares.

As of August 19, they have reportedly yielded 243,224 tons of potatoes from 12,762 hectares.
