From August 29, the Russian Embassy in Tajikistan suspends the acceptance of applications for the issuance of biometric passports abroad with a validity period of ten years. This was reported on the website of the embassy.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, since August 26, the issuance of new generation passports has been temporarily stopped in all countries – with an electronic storage medium and a ten-year validity period for technical reasons.

"Documents stopped issuing temporarily due to the need to reformat the electronic carrier ", the message says

It is noted that the issuance of old-style passports valid for five years will continue without changes.
