The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan has published a list of countries with the highest share of cement imports.

In January-August 2022, Uzbekistan imported 1.5 million tons of cement, in which about 42% are supplies from Tajikistan.

According to the Uzbek statistical agency, 625,000 tons of cement were imported from Tajikistan in eight months of this year.

The four main suppliers were exclusively representatives of Central Asia: Kyrgyzstan (458 thousand tons), Kazakhstan (409 thousand tons), Turkmenistan (11.5 thousand tons).

Relatively small volumes of this building material are also supplied to Uzbekistan from Iran (9.8 thousand tons), China (1.4 thousand tons), Russia (850 tons).

According to the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, in January-August this year, more than 2.9 million tons of cement were produced in Tajikistan, which is 14% less compared to the same period in 2021.
