Liquefied natural gas and gasoline prices are continuing to go down in Tajikistan.

The LNG prices came down a bit in some regions of Tajikistan on November 8 after the sudden spike in early November.

Thus, the price for one liter of LNG in Dushanbe fell from 7.30 somonis on November 1 to 7.00 somonis on November 8 and to 6.80 somonis on November 9.

On November 21, the price for one liter of LNG in Dushanbe fell to 6.20 somonis.  Some gas stations in the Tajik capital sell LNG at the rate of 6.10 somonis per liter.

In Khujand, the capital of the northern province of Sughd, the price for one liter of LNG fell from 6.60-6.70 somonis on November 9 to 5.90-6.00 somonis on November 21.

In Bokhtar, the capital of Khatlon province, the price for one liter of LNG fell from 7.00 somonis on November 9 to 6.30-6.40 somonis on November 21

Meanwhile, currently there is no LNG for sale at gas stations in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

It is to be noted that more than 60 percent of motor vehicles in the country use liquefied natural gas as fuel.

About twenty companies in Tajikistan are engaged in supplying the country with LNG.   The share of none of these companies exceeds 20 percent of a total volume of LNG imports.

This year, Tajikistan’s monthly requirements in LNG have been about 35,000 tons.

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the Government of Tajikistan, LNG prices have fallen on average 15.8 percent over the first nine months of this year.

In December last year, an average price for one liter of LNG in Tajikistan was 7.40 somonis.

As far as the price for one liter of 92-octane gasoline, which is the most sought-after grade of automobile gas in the country, is concerned, it fell in Dushanbe from 80.90 somonis on November 9 to 8.50 somonis on November 21 and 8.40 somonis on November 22, with similar price decrease in Khujand.

In Khujand, the price for one liter of 92-octane gasoline fell from 8.90 somonis on November 10 to 8.40 somonis on November 21.

In Khorog, the price for one liter of 92-octane gasoline remains high – 10.10 somonis.
