Tajik, Uzbek foreign ministers hold phone talks to discuss cooperation

UzDaily reports that acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on January 11 held a phone conversation with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

Top Tajik diplomat reportedly congratulated Saidov on his appointment to a high responsible position, wishing him success in his professional activities.

In the course of the talks, the parties discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

They reportedly underscored the commitment of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to continue an active political dialogue in the bilateral format and provide mutual assistance within the frameworks of international institutions.  

Saidov and Muhriddin also exchanged views on the progress of implementation of agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries, according to UzDaily
