After a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Emomali Rahmon yesterday met in Beijing with Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).  

The Tajik president’s official website says that at the beginning of the meeting, President Rahmon stated that Tajikistan attaches significant importance to further expansion of friendly relations and good neighborliness with China.

The parties reportedly shared deliberations on the issues of strengthening cooperation in the political, commercial, economic, cultural and humanitarian sectors, as well as in the field of security.

The parties also considered the deepening of relations in the fields of science, education, culture and humanitarianism as a requirement of time, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Xinhua reports that Wang said that the two sides should deepen political mutual trust, expand security cooperation, synergize development strategies and enhance mutual learning to boost the development of both countries. 

According to him, the CPPCC is willing to work with the Tajik side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges through various channels and at various levels, and work together toward the goal of building a China-Tajikistan community with a shared future, Wang said.
