This year, the American "Green card" was won by 3,580 citizens of Tajikistan. This is the result of DV-2023 applications that people filled out from October 5 to November 8, 2022: the results were announced to them on May 6, 2023.

The American Dream website recently announced the final number of Green Card winners-2023 by countries of the world.

Last year, the United States simplified the process of applying for a green card for Tajik citizens: Tajik citizens got the opportunity to participate in the lottery with an internal Tajik ID passport.

Previously, it was necessary to have a foreign passport to submit an application.

In addition, since last year, in case of winning, Tajik citizens do not need to travel outside the country to obtain a visa. They can get an American visa at the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe. Previously they had to go to Kazakhstan for this.

If you look at the statistics, the number of winners is growing every year, including people from Tajikistan. Thus, the number of annual winners from Tajikistan has increased 33 times in 23 years: from 107 people in 2001 to 3,580 in 2023.

And if we sum up the number of winners since 2001, then in 23 years 17 thousand 946 citizens of Tajikistan have become Green Card winners.

For comparison: This is 1 thousand more than the current population of the city of Guliston (Kayrakkum) in the Sughd region of Tajikistan.
