The average monthly nominal salary of employees of the banking system in Tajikistan over the past two years has increased by almost 36%, and workers in the agricultural sector – by 20%.

It should be noted that the first, according to the statistical department, receive the highest salary in the country, and the second – the lowest.

The average salary of bank employees by the beginning of the second half of this year reached 5822 somoni ($532), whereas in the same period of 2021 they received 4291 somoni.

The salaries of agricultural workers during this period increased from 597 somoni to 719 somoni ($66).

Thus, the difference between the salaries of employees of banks and dehkans has increased to 8 times within two years.

The average monthly nominal salary in the republic on July 1 of this year was 2,227 somoni ($203), and the minimum wage was 600 somoni ($55).

Meanwhile, the average monthly salary in Tajikistan remains at the lowest level among the Central Asian countries.

Thus, according to official data, at the beginning of the second half of this year, the average salary in Kazakhstan was $ 807, in Uzbekistan – $358, in Kyrgyzstan – $ 352.

There are no official data on the size of the average monthly salary in Turkmenistan.
