The export of Tajik goods and products for seven months of this year decreased by 43.6% compared to the same period in 2022, the statistical office of the republic reports.

In January-July, the republic exported goods and products worth $767 million, which is $592 million less than in the same period last year.

The drop in exports is primarily associated with a reduction in the sale of precious and semi-precious metals and stones. Sales of these products fell from $415 million in January-July last year to $649 thousand this year

Also, a significant impact on the reduction of exports of the republic was caused by a decrease in the sale of base metals and products made from them (primary aluminum and products made from it) – from $205 million to $172 million.

The sale of cotton fiber abroad, which is considered one of the two main export goods of the republic, has also significantly decreased: from $133 million to $80 million.

Exports of mineral products (electricity, cement, ores and concentrates, coal, etc.) also decreased by $138 million, vegetable products (fruits, vegetables, melons, etc.) – by $7 million.

The main export partners of Tajikistan for seven months of this year were Kazakhstan – 22.6% (of total exports of goods), China – 20.9%, Turkey – 12.4%, Russia – 11.7%, Uzbekistan – 11.2%.

Imports of goods, on the contrary, increased by 16% – from $2.8 billion to $3.2 billion.

The main commodity groups in the structure of the country's imports were mineral products (petroleum products, liquefied gas, coal, etc.) – 17.1%, machinery and equipment – 13.7%, base metals and products from them – 10%.

The main suppliers of goods and products to the republic remain Russia (28.2%), China (20.6%), Kazakhstan (14.7%).

In general, Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover for the first seven months of this year amounted to about $4 billion, which is 3.5% ($146 million) less compared to the same period in 2022. During this period, the Republic had trade relations with 111 countries of the world.
