The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan, on the instructions of the President and with the support of international organizations, provided assistance to about 500 families affected by the disaster at the end of August.

On September 5, with the support of the Aga Khan Habitat Agency, the UN World Food Programme in Tajikistan, the UN Children's Fund, the Humanitarian Aid Bureau, the US Agency for International Development in Tajikistan, assistance was provided to 400 households in Varzob district and 63 households in Hissar.

68 affected households of Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe were assisted today.

The assistance consists of food, basic necessities, mattresses, hygiene kits, water storage containers and tablets for its purification.

The Emergency Committee notes that at the moment, work is continuing in the country to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster, and the Committee remains at the center of coordinating efforts.

Recall that last week, the CES, together with international partners, on behalf of the president, provided assistance to 446 households of rural jamoats of Vakhdat city and 90 households of Rudaki district, who suffered as a result of mudslides on August 27-28.
