Kazakhstan’s QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development reports that presided over by Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Sulaimon Ziyozoda and Kazakh Vice-Premier Serik Zhumangarin, a Tajikistan-Kazakhstan business forum took place in Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe, from September 10 to September 12.

Organized by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration jointly with QazTrade and Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), this business mission has reportedly resulted in signing of a number of cooperation documents totaling worth more than 82 million US dollars.

Senior representatives of twenty-two Kazakhstan’s companies participated in the Dushanbe business forum, putting on display their achievements in food industry, agriculture, mining, geological survey, production of telecommunication equipment, transformers and relevant industries.     

QazTrade notes that the potential of Kazakhstan’s commodity producers allows seriously increasing export volumes of processed goods.

Kazakhstan’s entrepreneurs are reportedly ready to supply Tajik consumers with 60 items of products.

During the business trip to Dushanbe, representatives of Kazakhstan’s companies have visited a number of industrial and agricultural enterprises, trade chains and have held on-site meetings and negotiations in a B2B format.

Tajik partners reportedly showed a great interest in Kazakhstan's manufacturers of products of mechanical engineering as well as chemical and food industries.

The previous Tajikistan-Kazakhstan business forum that took place in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, on May 3 this year on the sidelines of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s state visit to Kazakhstan has resulted in signing of 40 cooperation documents totaling worth 2.6 billion U.S. dollars the Kazakh. 

More than 200 entrepreneurs and senior representatives of companies and enterprises of both countries participated in the May event. 

The parties, in particular, discussed construction of logistics centers as well as wholesale distribution centers in Tajikistan.  They also agreed to launch joint ventures in Tajikistan’s free economic zones.

According to data from the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan over the first six months of this year has valued at 559,945.3 US dollars.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Kazakhstan estimated at 153,434.9 US dollars (33.3-percent decrease compared to the same period last year) and Tajikistan’s imports from Kazakhstan worth 406,310.4 US dollars (6.6-percent increase).

According to QazTrade, Kazakhstan’s exports to Tajikistan include wheat, sunflower oil, hot rolled non-alloy steel rods and some other products.  

Tajikistan’s exports to Kazakhstan reportedly include vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, nuts.
