Tajikistan has worsened again its position in the rankings for Internet speed and cost.  

Speedtest Global Index ranks Tajikistan 139th among 145 countries in terms of Internet speed.

As of August 1, 2023, Tajikistan has reportedly had average download speed of 9.61 Mb/s and upload speed of 5.71 Mb/s.  

Meanwhile, in terms of Internet speed Azerbaijan ranks 54th, Kazakhstan – 63rd, Kyrgyzstan – 79th, Russia – 94th, Armenia – 98th, Uzbekistan – 101st, and Belarus -135th.

As far as Internet price is concerned, Worldwide Mobile Data Pricing ranks Tajikistan 142nd among 237 nations as of August 1, 2023.  Tajikistan dropped 39 points compared to late 2022, when Tajikistan was in the 103rd place among 230 countries.

In terms of the average price for 1GB of mobile data, Tajikistan is ranked 142nd among 237 countries. The average price of 1GB of mobile data in Tajikistan is estimated at US$1.65 with cheapest – US$0.17 and the most expensive – US$13.64.  

Meanwhile, in terms of the average price for 1GB of mobile data, CIS countries are ranked accordingly: Kyrgyzstan with the average price for 1 GB of mobile data amounting to US$0.17; Russia – 15th (US$0.25), Uzbekistan – 22nd (US$0.30); Kazakhstan – 35th (US$.041); Belarus – 66th (US$0.67); Armenia – 88th (US$0.98); and Azerbaijan – 146th (US$1.76).
