On Sunday October 29, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda met in Al-Kuwait with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait for Development and International Cooperation Hamad Suleiman Al-Mashaan.

The Tajik MFA information department says the parties discussed ways of strengthening and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait were established on March 31, 1995.  Tajik President Emomali Rahmon paid three official visits to the State of Kuwait (April 17-19, 1995, June 23-25, 2013 and May 15-17, 2016).  During these visits, he had meetings with high-ranking Kuwaiti state officials to discuss cooperation.

The Tajikistan/Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group, whose aim is to foster stronger relations between the two countries and their elected representatives, was established in 2014.

The first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries was held on April 7, 2015 in Dushanbe and the second round on April 2-4, 2018 in Al-Kuwait.

In early December last year, Tajikistan and Kuwait reportedly agreed to launch direct air route that connects the Tajik and Kuwait capitals – Dushanbe and Al-Kuwait.
