The First MicroFinanceBank-Tajikistan (FMFB-T) says its most modern branch has opened in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district.  More than 60 specialists, who had taken a special banking training, reportedly work for this branch.

An official opening ceremony of the branch took place on November 20.

Speaking at the ceremony, FMFB-T’s head Mirzosafar Safarov noted, “New modern technologies were introduced in the branch that will radically change all types of services and business processes.  Today, it is the best model for a branch and all other branches of the Bank will also be shifted to this model.”

Converting branches into a modern design equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities is one of the main strategies of the Bank.

“Therefore, Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) FMFB-T has decided to continue its development on a regular basis and offer the highest quality and modern services in other cities and districts of Tajikistan as well,” says press release issued by FMFB-T.

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) established The First MicroFinanceBank-Tajikistan (FMFB-T) in 2003 as the first fully licensed commercial bank in the country to have microfinance as its principal focus.  This license has allowed FMFB-T to expand activities to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).  Headquartered in Dushanbe, FMFB-T is now one of the leading providers of financial services in the country.
