Saudi Arabia has provided humanitarian aid to vulnerable families in Dushanbe on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, according to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Dushanbe.

The aid was handed over to residents of four districts of Dushanbe on March 17.  The ceremony reportedly took place at warehouses of Tajikistan’s Red Crescent Society (RCS) with participation of the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Tajikistan Waleed bin Abdurrahman Al-Rasheedan, RCS Secretary-General Bahodour Qurboniyon as well as representatives of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) and media.

Today, this action is taking place in Vahdat Township and Roudaki district, the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Dushanbe said.

The humanitarian aid reportedly includes 7427 food baskets containing flour, sugar, butter, pasta, tea, beans, rice, mash, etc.

According to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Dushanbe, these products are intended to provide 44,562 orphans and needy people living in five cities and districts of Tajikistan.

The project to provide food to those in need in Tajikistan is now in its third year.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reportedly stands in first place among the Arabic countries and in third place globally in terms of providing humanitarian aid to and implementing charity projects in Tajikistan.

The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Dushanbe says about 400,000 US dollars have been allocated for these purposes this year.
