As usual, the report from the Dushanbe Zoo caused a flurry of indignation and pity from commentators. The problem of zoo inhabitants has been for many decades – animals suffer here from heat and thirst in summer, from cold in winter, cramped in narrow cages. The conditions are simply torture.
The city authorities still cannot solve the problem, they say there is no money for the construction of a new zoo and, apparently, there are no investors who would like to invest.
Let's see what the residents offer.
In principle, the proposals do not change which year: to close the zoo permanently, and release the animals into the wild, or transfer them to some foreign zoo, where they will be taken care of in accordance with accepted international standards.
"Guys or whoever is in charge of this, please give freedom to the animals or give them to the Tashkent Zoo," wrote Zari Na.
"We don't know how to keep a zoo! Or rather, we can, we love animals, but.… Maybe we should give all the animals to the best zoos in friendly countries if we don't want to be sinners for their suffering? Why should people see the suffering of poor animals? Maybe we are animals?", – supports Timur Khodjaev.
There was even such an offer from Zebo Tajibayeva:
"Dispose of these animals already, show humanity, they will not be able to live in the wild, and in such conditions it is a living hell."
Many wrote that even as children they "got psychological trauma" after a walk in the Dushanbe Zoo and now do not want to take their children there. "Why won't they close this zoo in any way? How can you go and look at the torment of living beings, where has the compassion of people gone? To show children how cruel adults are, or so that they have a psychological trauma for the rest of their lives, or so that what? The people agree to give these poor animals to those countries where they will be looked after properly," Nargis Kayumjoni shares.
The situation in Khujand is no better today, according to Olimjon Khoshimov.
"Freedom for animals and birds! In order to keep wild animals, huge aviaries are needed, more or less similar to the conditions in nature, and not in cages. It is extremely difficult to do this, huge territories and funds are needed. Therefore, for the sake of money, it is not humanly to torture animals. And we have the same situation in Khujand. It's hot and cramped... Most visitors say after what they see: oh, poor animals," he writes.
And literally every second commentator asks: "Close this Zoo Hell!".
