The International Jewelry Forum and Exhibition titled “At the Origins of Oxus Treasures” will take place in Dushanbe from March 24-26. The event is organized by the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan (MoINT).

According to the official forum website, the event will bring together jewelers, designers, manufacturers, investors, and experts from 15 countries.  The aim is to promote Tajik jewelry art on the international stage, create opportunities for knowledge exchange, develop the industry through innovation, present achievements from global equipment manufacturers, and host educational sessions for specialists.

The forum will unite representatives from the public sector, business, artisans, jewelry experts, researchers, as well as students and young professionals.  More than 50 local enterprises and 200 international participants from Central Asia, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East are expected to attend.

Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, recently met with the ambassadors of India, Iran, and PakistanRajesh Wicker, Alireza Haghighian, and Muhammad Saeed Sarwar – inviting them to participate in the forum.  Tajik officials expressed hope that leading companies from these countries, specializing in precious metals processing and jewelry manufacturing, would actively participate in the event.

 

Forum program

 

March 24:

  • Official opening with government representatives and relevant ministries.
  • Plenary session on the future of the jewelry industry and signing of cooperation memorandums.
  • Opening of the Industrial and Jewelry Exhibition at the Dushanbe Expo Center.
  • Panel discussions on advanced jewelry manufacturing technologies and the development of industry regulations.
  • Gala dinner with a fashion show featuring local and international designers collaborating with jewelry brands, showcasing pieces using precious stones.

 

March 25:

  • Participants will visit the exhibition and explore jewelry brand products.
  • A historical tour of the Qalai Hisor Fortress.
  • Evening visits to jewelry clusters in Dushanbe, including Zarafshan LLC and Tajik-Chinese Mining and Industrial Company LLC.

 

March 26:

  • Visits to museums with jewelry and applied arts exhibits, including the National Museum of Antiquities, Ethnography Museum, Kohi Navrouz Palace, and National Museum of Tajikistan.
  • Educational sessions will include lectures on the "Oxus Treasures" and the development of Tajik jewelry art, as well as workshops on jewelry design and marketing from global brands.
