The Tajik president’s official website says the official visit of President Emomali Rahmon to Moscow began on March 16.

At Vnukovo-2 Airport, Emomali Rahmon was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Marat Khusnullin, along with other high-ranking Russian officials.

The Kremlin Palace is reportedly hosting official meetings and high-level negotiations between Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Putin today.  The agenda includes the signing of new cooperation agreements, press statements, and other key events.

The Kremlin reports that the discussions will focus on the further development of the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Tajikistan, with an emphasis on trade, investment, and humanitarian cooperation.   The leaders will also exchange views on current regional issues.

Additionally, Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon will take part in a video conference ceremony marking the start of construction of the International Educational Center for Gifted Children and the State Russian Drama Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky in Moscow.

Following the visit, a number of bilateral documents will be signed.

The last time the President of Tajikistan visited Russia was in December 2024 to participate in an informal summit of the heads of states of the CIS member countries.
