On November 25, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, Nasriddin Ismatullo, presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The Tajik MFA information department says that after the credential presentation ceremony, the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and ways to expand it. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

It should be noted that by president’s decree, dated November 18, Nasriddin Ismatullo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan. He succeeded Abdudjabbor Rakhmonzoda, who had held the post since May 4, 2021.

Before his appointment to Uzbekistan, Ismatullo served as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

His position was taken by Farrukh Hamralizoda, who had previously served as the Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United States since 2020. Hamralizoda was replaced by former Minister of Economic Development, Zavqi Zavqizoda, as the new Ambassador of Tajikistan to the U.S.
