On December 24, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon, along with Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Rustam Emomali, who is also the Mayor of Dushanbe, visited the Ministry of Defense. The Tajik president’s official website says that during the visit, they remotely launched the newly constructed Harbmaydon tank range and four new frontier posts on the Tajik-Afghan border.

Using a video link, President Rahmon inaugurated the tank range, which is part of the Harbmaydon training ground. The facility is designed to train specialized personnel and is equipped with modern training platforms and structures, according to the president's press service.

The Harbmaydon range includes various training facilities, a command and observation point, driving classrooms for military vehicles, and observation towers. After reviewing the range's capabilities, President Rahmon instructed the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies to effectively utilize the site to enhance the training of military personnel.

On the same day, President Rahmon also remotely launched four frontier posts located in a remote and mountainous section of the Tajik-Afghan border. This area previously lacked adequate infrastructure and protection. To support the functioning of these new posts, a 70-kilometer road was constructed, along with the necessary auxiliary infrastructure.

The president’s press service highlighted that over the past 31 years, Tajikistan’s Border Guard Forces, with the consistent support of the country's leadership, have significantly strengthened their material and technical base, improving the living and working conditions for military personnel. Particularly rapid progress has been observed in the last two to three years.

During this period, around 80 new frontier posts have been constructed, equipped with modern technology, facilities, and all necessary conditions for service. In addition to service buildings, barracks, dining halls, baths, heating systems, training grounds, and separate homes for officers and their families have been built at these posts.

In his remarks during the inauguration, President Rahmon emphasized that the government would continue to take measures to improve conditions for the Armed Forces, including the Border Guard Forces.

He also acknowledged the contribution of domestic entrepreneurs who are involved in the construction and development of military infrastructure, expressing his gratitude to them.

Additionally, President Rahmon and Rustam Emomali yesterday participated in the official opening of the new Dushanbe Television building, a Pokiza-M meat processing plant, and a new production line for Coca-Cola.
