Foreign nationals and stateless persons are expected to be able to stay in Uzbekistan without registration for up to 30 days beginning on July 1, 2020.
Uzbek media reports say the State Committee for Tourism Development proposes to cancel temporary registration of foreign nationals arriving in the country.
A relevant draft regulation on this subject was posted on the portal of the System of Assessment of Impact of Legislative Acts on December 10.
The document, in particular, proposes “to cancel the procedure of registration of foreign nationals and stateless persons on the territory of Uzbekistan for the period of visa (visa-free) regime, but not more than 30 calendar days.”
Currently, foreign nationals must be registered with relevant bodies within three days on arrival in Uzbekistan (excluding holidays and weekends).
