Following the national air carrier Tajik Air, Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Sozidaniye LLC, and the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Tajikairnavigation, Hilton Dushanbe Hotel’s owning company, CJSC CHL International, has been granted a license to provide special services for foreign currency in Tajikistan.
The license has been granted to CHL International for three years, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) press center.
The NBT Department for International Reserves Management and Exchange Rate Policy has been ordered to put this company on the relevant registry.
Under Tajikistan’s law on currency regulation and currency control, the following types of activities on carrying out foreign currency related transactions require a license issued by the government: duty free shops; special services in foreign currency; currency exchange offices of authorized persons; and mediation in the international foreign exchange market.
Recall, Hilton announced its debut in Tajikistan on October 1, 2019 with the opening of Hilton Dushanbe Hotel in the country’s capital.
