DUSHANBE, October 10, 2013, Asia-Plus — An official source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says a nephew of the chief of Tajik state railway company — 21-year-old Asror Hukumov – is responsible for a fatal traffic accident that took place in Dushanbe late on October 9. Asror Hukumov is currently under investigation.
According to the source, three employees of Rohat Teahouse were killed in that crash. It is known that one of them is the son of Rohat Teahouse director.
“Asror Hukumov himself got off with several inconsiderable injuries,” the source added.
We will recall that the Interior Ministry’s website reported that three persons were killed and at least three others were seriously injured late on October 9 as two vehicles collided in Dushanbe.
The accident took place at Roudaki Avenue in downtown Dushanbe. A speeding BMW reportedly went into oncoming traffic and collided with VAZ 21-04. As the result of the collision, the driver of VAZ 21-04 and his two passengers died on the spot while three other passengers sustained serious injuries received and were rushed to hospital.
Meanwhile Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service reports three people were killed and three injured following a crash during nighttime car races that often include the children of the country”s elite.
Sources in Dushanbe”s traffic police told RFE/RL late on October 9 that the children of “very important people,” who often race expensive cars at night in downtown Dushanbe, caused a deadly traffic incident during Wednesday night.
