DUSHANBE, August 6, 2014, Asia-Plus — Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda has taken the Khorog double murder case under his personal control.
We will recall that the bodies of two residents of Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), with bullet wounds were found in Khorog’s Newodak area yesterday morning.
According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the bodies were reportedly found in Mercedes-Benz 600, having tinted glasses.
An official source at a MoI said the bodies had been identified as cousins Sayod Okhonqadamov, 24, from Khorog’s UPD neighborhood and Daler Khoushdilov, 25, from Khorog’s Barkhorog neighborhood.
“They were shot by unidentified assailants,” said the source. “A special group comprising representatives of local police and prosecutor’s office has been set up to investigate this crime. Deputy Interior Minister, Abdullo Navjuvanov, GBAO chief prosecutor Mohammad Arbobov, and Khorog police chief Qiyomiddin Nizomiddinov have visited the crime scene. Besides, experienced criminalists and investigators from Dushanbe went to Khorog.”
According to him, Okhonqadamov and Khoushdilov had nothing to do with local organized crime groups and did not participate in violences that took place in Khorog in August 2012 and May 2014.
