KHUJAND, December 25, 2012, Asia-Plus — An investigator from the Khujand police department has got a log jail term for drug trafficking.
The Khujand city court sentenced Nabi Homidov, an investigator with the Khujand police department, to eight years in prison on December 25. The sentence followed his conviction on the charge of a large-scale drug trafficking. The court also ruled that Homidov will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
A source at the Khujand city court says Homidov was detained in a special operation in September this year and more than 5.5 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated fro him.
