Cashier at the branch of Amonabonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) in the Baljuvon district of Khatlon province is suspected of embezzling the bank funds, according to the anticorruption agency.
She has reportedly received more than 71,000 somoni under false pension documentation.
According to the anticorruption agency press center, H.M. embezzled more than 71,000 somoni during the period from last August until her arrest.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against H.M. under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 245 – embezzlement; and Article 323 – service forgery. She faces up to eight years in jail and large fine.
