The next 28th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member Nations will take place in Dushanbe on September 20, an official source at the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Tajikistan told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, chief prosecutors from nine member nations of the CIS, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the meeting that will be presided over by Russian Prosecutor-General, Yuri Chaika.

“The meeting participants are expected to discuss issues related to expansion of cooperation, exchange of information and experience of work as well as training of personnel,” the source said.

The Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member States was established on December 7, 1995 following the joint decision of the CIS chief prosecutors.  Under the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of State dated January 25, 2000, the status of International Body was granted to the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member States.

Current members of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member States include representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
