Man stabs to death his sister following quarrel

A man, who has previous convictions, has stabbed to death his sister following quarrel, according to the Interior Ministry press center. 

Resident of Dushanbe, being in a state of drunkenness, inflicted two stab wounds on his sister following quarrel on July 7, at around 7:30 pm.  The woman died on the spot.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the man under the provisions of Article 244 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code, an investigation is under way.

On the same day, a resident of the Shahrak jamoat, which is subordinate to the northern city of Isfara, inflicted stab wounds on his 54-year-old fellow-villager and his 30-year-old son.  Both men sustained severe stab wounds and were taken to a hospital.  

According to official statistics, the number of grave crimes such murders, robberies and burglaries considerable increased in Tajikistan in May this year.  Compared to May 2019, the number of murders and attempted murders increased by 62 percent, the number of robberies increased by 75 percent and the number of burglaries increased by 35 percent.
