A second-year student of the World Economy and Marketing at Technological University in Dushanbe, Ayniddin Davlatov, is charged with attempted murder after inflicting stab wound on the Dean of the Faculty of World Economy and Marketing, Muzaffar Imomnazarov.
The Dushanbe Police Directorate press center says criminal proceedings against Ayniddin Davlatov have been instituted under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 32 (4) – preparation for crime; and Article 104 (1) – attempted murder.
The student faces up to 15 years in prison.
The incident took place on January 28. The lagging student reportedly attacked the dean after the latter called his father to the University to talk about the student’s poor grade.
Muzaffar Imomnazarov, 43, is currently in a hospital under the supervision of doctors. Imomnazarov underwent surgery and his condition is assessed as satisfactory.
