Chiefs of diplomatic missions to Tajikistan to hold conference in Sughd

KHUJAND, August 23, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Foreign ambassadors to Tajikistan with residences in Tashkent, Uzbekistan are expected to gather in Khujand, the capital of the Tajik northern Sughd province for a conference that is expected to take place in the Sughd regional capital on August 25-26, an official source at the Sughd regional administration told Asia-Plus in an interview.

“In all, 41 persons, including diplomats and members of their families, will arrive in Khujand,” the source noted.

According, among the guests are ambassadors of the United States, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Bulgaria to Uzbekistan as well as ambassadors of Georgia, Poland, the Czech Republic, South Korea and Malaysia to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with residences in Tashkent.

During their stay in the province, foreign diplomats are expected to visit a number of industrial enterprises in the area and the Sughd free economic zone (FEZ) as well as will see the sights of northern Tajikistan, the source added.
