DUSHANBE, September 5, 2012, Asia-Plus — Representatives of Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), which is the youth organization of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Tajikistan, has held a series of meetings with Tajik labor migrants working in Russia’s Siberian Federal District.
Sozandagoni Vatan leader Adham Mirsaidov told Asia-Plus by phone from Novosibirsk on Wednesday that they met with labor migrants working in Novosibirsk on September 4. Issues related to launch of a rail route from Dushanbe to Novosibirsk as well as delivery and distribution of Tajik newspapers in the Siberian Federal District were the focus of the meeting.
On September 6, Tajik Migration Service’s offices in Russia will organize a series of activities dedicated to the 21st anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence in Novosibirsk under support of local authorities and Tajik Diasporas, Mirsaidov said.
PDP’s youth organization launched meetings in Siberia on August 29 and to-date, representatives of the Sozandagoni Vatan have also met with Tajik labor migrants working in Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk. “During the meetings in Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk, Tajik labor migrants raised issues of getting higher education in the Russian Federation and secondary school admissions for their children in Russia,” Mirsaidov noted.
Meetings of the Sozandagoni Vatan representatives with Tajik labor migrants working in Siberia will last till September 8.
The meetings aiming to inform labor migrants about achievements of independent Tajikistan and government’s efforts to help tackle problems facing labor migrants are being held under support of offices of the Tajik migration service agency in Russia, Sozandagoni Vatan leader added.
Sozandagoni Vatan is the youth organization of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The PDP created the Sozandagoni Vatan organization in July and its founding conference took place on July 27, 2011. The conference elected Adham Mirsaidov, formerly head of the PDP organizing department, chairman of the Sozandagoni Vatan organization. The organization was registered with the Ministry of Justice in November 2011.
The main objective of the organization is in fostering a spirit of patriotism, devotion to ideas of national self-consciousness and independence of the country in the young generation.
