Deputies of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have unanimously voted for ratification of an investment agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and Avesto Guruh (Avesto Group) LLC on construction of the “Siyoma” water and alcohol bottling plant in Dushanbe.
A regular sitting of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, took place on June 7.
Presenting the agreement to lawmakers, the head of the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), Farrukh Hamralizoda, said Avesto Guruh LLC will fully finance the conduct of feasibility study, the construction of the plant and the necessary infrastructure and the purchase of the necessary equipment and technologies.
“At the initial phase of the project, Avesto Guruh will be exempted from paying the income tax and equipment delivered for the plant from abroad will be exempted from payment of the value added tax (VAT) and customs duties,” Hamralizoda noted.
Answering questions from lawmakers, Avesto Guruh CEO, Zafar Burhonzoda, said the plant building had already been constructed and the drinking water production line had already been set up. “Installation of the line for production of alcohol drinks will have been completed by September this year,” Burhonzoda noted.
Recall, the investment agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and Avesto Guruh LLC was singed on April 25, 2019. The document was inked by Farrukh Hamralizoda and Mohammad Mirzo, Director-General of Avesto Guruh LLC.
