On Saturday December 21, President Emomali Rahmon visited the Khuroson district in the Khatlon province, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
The main purpose of the visit was for the head of state to get acquainted with the state of the agrarian sector in the district.
During the visit, Emomali Rahmon reportedly attended a ceremony of laying out a vineyard on an area of 150 hectares.
The vineyard was reportedly laid out by local farmers for the purpose of contributing to increase in the country’s grapes exports.
The Tajik president’s official website says that in honor of the president, the vineyard was named “The Leader of Nation.”
