On Saturday January 4, President Emomali Rahmon visited the city of Tursunzoda and farming units subordinate to it. Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali accompanied Emomali Rahmon on this visit.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, they visited the Dono Farm, which produces tomatoes in greenhouse.
This farming unit was reportedly established in 1996 and tomatoes produced by this farming unit go not only to domestic market but also for export.
While in Tursunzoda, the head of state also visited the Boghi Somon viticulture farm, which is one of the largest grape-growing farms in the country. It now grows seven varieties of grapes.
Established in 2008 at President Rahmon’s initiative, Boghi Somon has 1,102 shareholders, the Tajik president’s official website says.
