Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali has reportedly ordered the relevant municipal agencies to build 30 schools in the Tajik capital by September 9, 2021, when Tajikistan will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its Independence.
According to the Dushanbe Administration press center, those 30 schools will be built at the expense of the city budget.
The Dushanbe Administration also plans to attract funds from local entrepreneurs as well as grants from international financial institutions.
The new schools will accommodate a total of 27,000 pupils, and thereby, they will resolve the problem of shortage of school seats in Dushanbe, the Dushanbe Administration press center says.
140 schools reportedly now function in Dushanbe.
On Saturday June 6, Rustam Emomali visited the site for construction of School No 102 on Druzhba Narodov (Peoples’ Friendship) Street. The school will accommodate 1,200 pupils in one shift.
