DUSHANBE, July 18, 2014, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s office in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) have reportedly destroyed 3,123 shrubs of Indian hemp.
The DCA press center reports officers from DCA’s office in GABO have detected and destroyed 3,123 shrubs of Indian hemp in the village of Buni in the Shugnan district while carrying out the anti-drug operation, dubbed Kuknor 2014 (Poppy 2014).
The anti-drug operation, dubbed Kuknor 2014 (Poppy 2014), is going on in Tajikistan.
This year, the anti-drug operation was launched in early May and it will run through November.
This annual operation, involving representatives of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, ministries of agriculture and health, as well as the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, is dedicated to detect and destroy drug crops across the country.
