Another armed incident took place on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in Babaja Ghafourov area of Soghd province. Five Tajik citizens received firearm wounds.
As reported by a source in the Soghd provincial administration to Asia-Plus, the incident took place in Khwaja Baqirghan locale, where Kyrgyz side was attempting to resume the construction of a bridge through a river, while Tajik citizens were trying to prevent the construction.
The source says: “As a result of fire opened by Kyrgyz border guards, five residents of Qalacha village were wounded; Tajik border guards, who arrived to the incident location, did not return fire.”
According to him, the situation in the incident location is being controlled by Tajik border troops this morning.
The source concluded: “The wounded Tajik citizens are hospitalized.”
