Twenty-eight internationally wanted persons have been detained in a special operation carried out by Tajik law enforcement authorities over the past two weeks.
The Interior Ministry press service reports that Tajik law enforcement authorities have detained 28 internationally wanted persons and seized 32 illegally possessed weapons over the past two weeks.
Besides, 20 foreign citizens were deported from Tajikistan for violation of the rules of stay in the country within the first stage of a special operation, dubbed “Illegal-2017,” which was carried out from late May to mid-June.
Over the report period, Tajik law enforcement authorities have inspected 55 construction companies and 67 large shopping centers for which foreign nationals work. 120 cases of violation of the rules of stay in Tajikistan have reportedly been revealed in the course of those inspections.
The Operation dubbed “Illegal” is carried out within the area of responsibility (AoR) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) every year in two stages: in early summer and in autumn.
The CSTO member nations include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
