To eliminate the shortcomings in the work of the law enforcement agencies of GBAO, the strengthening of the rule of law in Khorog, pointed out by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on September 15 at a meeting with the assets of GBAO, Dushanbe does not plan to send additional forces and funds to Khorog, source in the power bloc of the government of the republic reports.
He stressed that to establish law and order in GBAO in the region itself there is sufficient potential.
«To date, roads of the region, a special city of Khorog, are being raided by traffic policemen, regional police to eliminate violations of traffic rules, in this case, employees of the internal affairs bodies are assisted by the local population», – a source said.
According to the data of the State Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan for GBAO, over the past 10 days, over 400 violations of the traffic rules registered. In general, these are cases of illegal tinting of car windows, exceeding permissible speed, driving cars that do not have state registration numbers.
Meanwhile, according to the press service of the border troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, in recent days, no violations of law were committed at the border of the republic with Afghanistan, including at the border of GBAO with this country.
Recall, on September 15, President Emomali Rahmon during a meeting with the GBAO asset in Khorog gave the leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State National Security Committee and local leadership a month of time to restore law and order in the region, especially in Khorog.
The President stressed that otherwise he would dispose of the use of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
