Military officials of Central and South Asia nations as well the United States will gather in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, tomorrow to discuss cooperation.
"Chiefs of General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan as well as the Frist Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and the Commander of U.S. Central Command will participate in the event,” Orif Nizomiyon, a chef spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, they will discuss issues related to providing regional security, the current situation in Afghanistan, the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and cybercrime.
While in Tashkent, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Force of Tajikistan, Lieutenant-General Emomali Sobirzoda, will hold a number of bilateral meetings with military officials of Uzbekistan to discuss further plans of interaction between the armies of the countries, Nizomiyon added.
