Emergencies Committee conducts drill for public order maintenance service of Khatlon police directorate

The Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan has conducted a command-and-staff drill for servicemen of the Public Order Maintenance Service of the Khatlon Police Directorate.

The drill that involved more than 1,300 people and more than 90 units of equipment in all cities and districts of the province was conducted in three stages.

The purpose of the drill was in rehearsing interaction in mitigating effects of natural and human-made disasters, Ms. Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.   

According to her, the drill has allowed determining preparedness of civil defense and emergency management bodies and the unified state emergency prevention system for emergency response.   

Review for fixed and tent points for temporary accommodation of population, voluntary rescue formations and centers for distribution of personal protective equipment was organized within the framework of the drill, Yusufi added.
