Hotline launched for Tajikistanis in Russia

A special hotline on all labor migration issues has been lunched for Tajikistanis in the Russian Federation   

The hotline has been launched by the Representative Office of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population (MoLMEP).

The hotline is reportedly aimed at providing assistance with solving the problems facing labor migrants, receiving oral appeals and providing legal assistance.

The hotline reportedly works from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Moscow time and specialists make available consultations on issues related to protecting rights of labor migrations, regulating labor relations, and seeking for decent work.  

The number of the hotline is +7 (495) 967 98 44. 

According to a MoLMEP, 331,353 Tajik nationals have traveled to Russia seeking better employment opportunities over the first ten months of this year, which is reportedly 2.8 times more than for the whole of 2020.   Tajik national primarily travel to Irkutsk, Chita, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Moscow, St Petersburg, Moscow and Leningrad oblasts.  

Meanwhile, Russian migration authorities says more than 1 million Tajiks are currently working as labor migrants in the Russian Federation.  

According to data from the Central Bank of Russia, 752.4 million U.S. dollars have been sent from Russia to Tajikistan trough money transfer systems over the first six months of this year, which is 10.8 percent more than in the same period last year.
