During the ceremony, Ambassador Miyashita made the following remarks, “It is my great pleasure to handover two endoscope systems to the Vahdat Central Hospital today.  They are indispensable for accurate diagnoses and efficient treatment, which will reduce burden of the patients.  To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the State Independence of Tajikistan, Embassy of Japan has handed over 22 GGP projects within this year. This is our last handover ceremony this year.  At the same time, this is my last handover ceremony, because I am leaving Tajikistan by the end of December.  I feel sad that I have to leave Tajikistan but I am extremely happy to finish my last mission in Tajikistan with you.  I wish to every citizen a happy and healthy life.  Don’t forget, Japan stands always on your side.”

The Government of Japan is dedicated to continuing its support for creating a better society for all people and committed to working together with the people of Tajikistan.

Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP) is a scheme within Japan’s Official Development Assistance.  GGP in particular implements grassroots-level projects in various sectors throughout the Republic of Tajikistan.  Recipients of GGP grants include local governments, educational and medical institutions, and NGOs.  As of today, GGP has supported 439 projects in Tajikistan, for which US$36.0 million has been allocated since 1996.
