As of December 1, 2021, electricity debts of the Bokhtar zone (Vakhsh Valley) in Khatlon province have amounted to 395,279,800 somonis, which is 49.4 million somonis more than in the same period last year, Davlatsho Roziqov, the commercial director of the branch of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Shabakahoi Taqsimoti Barq (Power Distribution Network) in Khatlon, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, electricity debts of residential customers have amounted to 111.342 million somonis and the rest is debts of enterprises, farms and state institutions.
The most incorrigible nonpayer in the zone is the city of Bokhtar, the capital of Khatlon province. “Its electricity debts have amounted to 120.063 million somonis as of December 1, 2021,” Roziqov noted.
A total electricity debt of federally funded institutions of 13 cities and districts of the Bokhtar zone is 25.151 million somonis.
Roziqov says they have filed a lawsuit against several government agencies, but it's useless, because debtors have no money.
