The second Antalya Diplomacy Forum expected to bring together more than 100 high-ranking officials

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2022 will take place in a beautiful Antalya resort on the coast of the Mediterranean from March 11-13, 2022.

The event, which will be held under the theme of “Recoding Diplomacy”, will be hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The Forum is expected to host Heads of State and Government, Ministers, policy makers, diplomats, business leaders, academics, representatives of think tanks, youth organizations and media from Turkey and around the world. The participants will address a wide range of topics in international relations.

The ADF’s website notes that diplomacy is indeed transforming. Its language and methods are changing. Competition, discord and even conflict are constants in international affairs and affect humanity with changing dynamic. New fluctuations in global affairs coupled by the Covid-19 pandemic have exacerbated the need for transformation. Shifts in the relationship between state and the individual as well as technological innovation require attention.

Humanity reportedly needs robust diplomacy to resolve tensions, manage change, facilitate adaptation and promote cooperation. For this, diplomacy must stay innovative, efficient, and effective. In turn, it requires composite efforts towards re-evaluation, reaffirmation and restoration, in other words, a recoding.

The recoding of diplomacy also encompasses finding effective ways to communicate national interests with renewed language, insight and impact, while making extensive use of rapidly changing and innovative digital capabilities, the ADF’s website says, noting that reaching out to a younger generation is among the top priorities.

The first ADF took place on June 18-20, 2021.

Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin took place in the first ADF and held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the event.

With the participation of more than 2000 guests comprising Heads of State and Government, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and high-level representatives of the International Organizations, the first Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) reportedly provided and fruitful communications on global and regional issues among the representatives of politics, science, media and business.

ADF is a high-level gathering of professionals who deal with diplomacy such as political leaders, diplomats, opinion makers or academics.  It presents an excellent platform for regional and global actors from the spheres of diplomacy, policy, and business to exchange ideas and address international challenges.

Diplomacy remains the core method of communication among leaders and states. There is a whole set of other structural and systemic changes in the international environment that the diplomacy profession should respond to.
