DUSHANBE, January16, 2013, Asia-Plus  — A car delivery process will change in Tajikistan beginning on February 1, 2013.

Nemat Rahmatov, the first deputy head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, remarked this at a news conference in Dushanbe o January 16.

“By government’s decree passed in December a simplified car delivery process will be canceled in Tajikistan beginning on February 1 this year,” said Rahmatov.  “Now the car delivery process will not be divided into the following categories: “for individual use” and for “commercial purposes.  A common procedure for car delivery will be established for both legal and physical entities.”     

Beginning on February 1, 18-percent value added tax (VAT), 5-percent customs duties and 10-percent excise tax will be imposed on delivery of a vehicle to the country, Tajik customs official added.

According to the statistical data of the Customs Service, US$510 million worth of vehicles were delivered to Tajikistan over the first eleven months of last year, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2011.
