DUSHANBE, October 20, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Colonel-General Khairiddin Abdurahimov, head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), heading a Tajik delegation, is participating at the 25th three-day session of the council of CIS security service chiefs that opened in Yerevan, Armenia on October 20. 

According to the GKNB press center, the session is aiming to discuss issues related to cooperation in combating extremism, international terrorism and transnational criminal gangs, as well as countering illegal migration. 

The session participants are particularly considering joint antiterrorist measures related to countering the use of Internet resources for terrorist and other illegal purposes, intensification of exchange of information on new methods and channels of transportation of narcotics, etc. 

            The session will also discuss the progress of implementation of the 2008-2010 CIS program for cooperation in combating terrorism and other manifestations of extremism. 

            They will also sum up the results of joint antiterrorist exercise conducted in Belarus last month.
