DUSHANBE, March 12, 2013, Asia-Plus — Resident of the northern city of Konibodom has been detained in Dushanbe for illegal trade in mercury.

According to the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center, a plastic bottle containing 500 grams of mercury was confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against him under the provisions of Article 206 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – trafficking in potent or toxic substances, the source said.
